TeluguVaru ("we", "us", or "our") operates teluguvaru.org, a community platform for the Telugu community. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

- Profile information such as city, state, bio, and phone number
- Content you post: news, events, business listings, forum topics, and comments
- Authentication data when you sign in via Google or Facebook

We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Display your public profile and content on the platform
- Send you community updates, event reminders, and notifications
- Improve the platform and develop new features

4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
- Service providers — Supabase (database & auth), Vercel (hosting), Twilio (SMS), Resend (email)
- Law enforcement — when required by law or to protect safety
- Other users — your public profile, posts, and forum contributions are visible to all visitors
5. Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by:
- Emailing us at privacy@teluguvaru.org
- Using the account deletion option in your Dashboard settings
Upon request, we will delete your account and personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
6. Facebook Login Data
If you sign in using Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Facebook as permitted by your Facebook privacy settings. We use this information solely to create and manage your TeluguVaru account. We do not post to your Facebook profile or access your friends list.
To revoke TeluguVaru's access to your Facebook data, visit Facebook App Settings and remove TeluguVaru.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies to maintain your login session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to sign in.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, and secure authentication via Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
9. Children's Privacy
TeluguVaru is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the site or sending an email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
